BIKE EDUCATION CLASSES

Equipment: A variety of portable tools and accessories, dependent on the type of ride. Students do not need to bring their own bicycle.

Registration Policy:  Advance registration is required for all participants.

Cost: All classes are offered free of charge, unless stated otherwise.

Bike Buyer's Workshop

Our bike buying class covers the basics of what you should know before purchasing your first or even second (+) bike.

Maintenance 101

This class covers everything you should know to keep your bike running smoothly for as long as possible.

FIX-A-Flat

Learn how to easily fix the most common bike repair problem, a flat tire.

Gears and Derailleurs

We’ll go over the fundamentals of repairs to the shifting on multi-speed bicycles, from diagnosing mechanical problems, to tuning the derailleur and basic drivetrain maintenance.

Brakes

We’ll go over the fundamentals of brakes, including tune-ups, adjustments, and repair.

Wheel Truing

You’ll learn to true wheels by adjusting the tension of the wheel’s spokes, eliminating any contact between the brake pads and the rim as it spins.

Bearing Assemblies

You'll learn how to maintain the bearing assembly components on your bike - headset, bottom bracket, and wheel hubs. We'll show you how to diagnose and replace worn bearings, so you can keep rolling smoothly!
